Update for Kansas NP practice!

Posted 5 months ago by Laurel Short

Hi APRN Colleagues,

The Kansas Advanced Practice Nurses (KAPN) group ( represents all 4 roles), met last Saturday and discussed strategies for advancing the APRN profession in Kansas. We are planning on introducing a Bill in January 2019 to replace some of the outdated APRN Statutes with updated APRN Consensus Model language. The main goal is to get rid of the collaborative agreement and written protocols.

We will be using our lobbyists more over the next year and thus their fees DOUBLE. We sign their contract July 1

Over the next 30 days, we need 350 new members to join KAPN. If we don’t reach that goal, we can’t afford the lobbyists and we stop forward progress.

We need your help! PLEASE join KAPN TODAY and send this to 5-10 other APRNs that you work with and stress the importance of this movement. If you are in a group, send it to your members. If you are in a hospital/clinic/business or other organization, please send it to the APRNs you know. There is also a category for RN or other non-APRN members.

We need to make access to care better for our patients by improving our APRN Statutes. If we all work together, we can get this done!

I am pleading with you to help us get 350 new members in 30 days. WE CAN DO THIS! Spread the word1

If you have any questions, please contact any board member or myself.

Go to to JOIN TODAY!  Right now, before you get busy doing other things!
