Position Description

Location- 30 miles west of Kansas City.. Lawrence is a city in northeast Kansas. On the University of Kansas campus, the Spencer Museum of Art has a large collection of contemporary and indigenous art. The KU Natural History Museum has dinosaur fossils, live insects and a honeybee colony. South, sprawling Baker Wetlands is home to hundreds of bird species. West of the city, trail-lined Clinton State Park has deer, plus bass and catfish in Clinton Lake.

Facility- Facility is located in Lawrence Kansas and exists to provide the highest quality care to the community and makes the care accessible to all community members, including those living below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Level. As an organization, we acknowledge that we are more than just physical bodies and utilize a holistic health model that focuses on physical health as well as emotional, social and spiritual health. They are dedicated to Integrated health care and not just co-location of primary care and behavioral health providers.

Opportunity- 2 needs for Advanced Practitioner’s.. Would like at least 1 experienced, and other can be a newer grad.

All Outpatient work, no call schedule, work with 6 other providers. Telephone after hours calls on rare occasions, but never have to go into the Center.

The primary responsibility of the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or PA will be to deliver effective medical services to the Center’s patients. This provider works closely with our primary care team to provider psychiatric consultation and care to our patients. Duties would include curbside consultation with our primary care providers regarding shared patients, medication evaluation and management of patients with a wide variety of psychiatric needs. We strive to practice an integrated model of psychiatry such that the practitioner will help stabilize patients on medication and then refer the patient back to regular management by their PCP. Working closely in collaborative care is essential. In addition to providing medication treatment, the APRN may be asked to conduct educational activities, including groups, regarding medications for other staff or patients. This position is available through a collaboration with a local Community Mental Health Center.
